Frequently Asked Questions
Why aren't there any audio and video features on TELEFUNKEN frames?
Telefunken has chosen to focus on what they deem essential, namely the picture. This enables them to offer consumers high quality products.
Isn't it too complicated to use?
Absolutely not: Simply plug it in an electrical outlet, insert your Memory Card and turn on the frame. The slide show starts automatically.
I saw that Digiframe can display several images at once. Is it also possible to display one single image?
Of course. TELEFUNKEN's proprietary technology features multiple image viewing, but you can also display one single image.
The slide show starts automatically, but can I display one still image?
Absolutely. Through the remote control, you can control the sequence of images at your own pace.
The 7" Digiframe aspect ratio is 16:9, how can it display images from my digital camera?
Digiframe doesn't stretch the images to make them fit into the frame as this would distort them. You can choose between two different display formats. Full-screen display in which your image will be cropped at the top and the bottom, or thumbnail where the image is entirely kept but with two black horizontal mattes along the edges.
What are the 4:3, 16:9 and 3:2 ratios?
These refer to the aspect ratio between the width and height of the image.
Compact digital cameras often referred to as “bridges†deliver images with a 4:3 width/height ratio.
Reflex cameras (with interchangeable lenses) deliver images with a 3:2 ratio (except Olympus, Panasonic and Leica which feature a 4:3 ratio.)
LCD or plasma TV screens feature a 16:9 ratio. This is the movie format.
Isn't the 800X600 resolution too low?
Quite on the contrary, this is a very high resolution. Let's compare with HD TV:
A full 46†HD TV features a 1920x1080 resolution. Its resolution is only 2.4 times higher for a size almost 6 times larger than a frame of 8 inches. In order to get an equivalent resolution for the frame size, the TV should have a 4600x2760 resolution.
What are the different possible settings for the slide show?
You can set the different transitions between images, the display duration for each image, and start a random slide show.
What should I do if a picture is upside down?
You can rotate the image, and even zoom into the image to enlarge a detail.
Can I play an unlimited number of photographs from one Memory Card or Flash Drive?
On the 7 & 8" frames, you can play up to 2000 photographs, and 4000 on larger frames.
Can I plug in several cards at the same time?
Yes, you can insert several cards at the same time and switch easily between them via the Menu.
With which operating system is Digiframe compatible?
Digiframe is compatible with Windows XP.
Which accessories come with Digiframe?
Digiframe is provided with a remote control, an AC adaptor, a USB cable and a small cloth to clean the screen.
Can I copy photos from a Memory Card or a Flash Drive to the frame's internal memory?
Yes, you can copy your photos on the frame's internal memory. Though you cannot copy photos from the frame's internal memory to a Memory Card.
I have inserted a Memory Card in my Digiframe, but the frame cannot read it. What shall I do?
Be sure that your Memory Card format is compatible with the frame. Then, check that the card is properly inserted in the appropriate slot. Last, turn the Digiframe off and on to recognize the card.
Why are some photographs uploaded faster than others?
High res photos are slower to upload. In order to reduce the upload time, we recommend adjusting the image resolution according to that of the frame.
Why do my images take longer to upload with some cards?
There are various technologies for Memory Cards. Some take longer to read than others. Images play faster if you upload them to the internal memory.
Why can't I display a black & white photo?
Digiframe can read B&W photos if they are in RGB mode, but not in grayscale. In order to keep B&W pictures in RGB, you need to desaturate the colours with a photo retouching software.
What shall I do if my Digiframe screen remains black?
Check the contrast setting by adjusting the track wheel at the top of the frame. Check that the cursor at the back of the frame is switched ON. Check that the Digiframe is properly connected to the electrical outlet.
Are there loudspeakers on Digiframe?
No. Digiframe only plays JPEG files and not audio files. That's why our frames do not have loudspeakers.
In which order are the photos displayed?
Pictures are displayed according to the way they have been saved (on the internal memory or on the memory card). Be careful not to start the random slide show Viewing mode. Otherwise, your photos will be displayed randomly.
